Charles Neutz Obituary

Charles R. "Bob" Neutz

Louisville - Charles Robert (Bob) Neutz, age 87 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

He was born August 29, 1931 in Louisville, son of Karl Henry Neutz and Stella Katherine Anderson Neutz. Bob married Dorothy Marie (Dot) McClish August 30, 1952 in Louisville at Saint Martin's Catholic Church. He promised his mother he wouldn't marry until 21, so they married the day after. They where married for just over 66 years before his passing.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Marie (Dot) Neutz; children, Terry Neutz Hayden (Terry Alan), Perry (Karyla) Neutz, and Sherry Neutz; grandchildren, Brittany Hayden Hinkle (Chad), Morgan Capers (Chris), Jacklynn Neutz and Jordan Neutz; and two great-grandchildren, Juliana and Olivia Hinkle.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Katherine Neutz and Ida Josephine Cardwell, two brothers, Carl Edward and Sherrill Neutz.

Bob's lifetime career in upholstery extended over 49 yrs before his retirement. He enjoyed traveling with family throughout the Caribbean and United States, and most any sport but in particular a love of golf. He played a competitive family game of croquet and horseshoes, had a passion for collecting old coins and restoring the interiors of old cars. His artistry and creative abilities touched us all. In his early years, he enjoyed ice skating and gymnastics with his father, severing as an exercise boy for race horses, and golf caddy to anyone that would hire his slight frame. Later years, he moved onto enjoying his Indian Motorcycle, side cart motorcycle, boxing, more gymnastics, swimming, softball, golf and tennis. In his travel, beach volleyball was a favorite. Bob and Dot loved dancing together throughout their lives with family and friends. They entered many a dance contest just for the fun of it. They both enjoyed boating, waterskiing and tubing. Bob had been a member of Turners, Knight of Columbus, and Moose Lodge (Lodge 5). He was a huge Kentucky Fan, Kentucky Colonel and a Jefferson County Reserve Deputy Sheriff (Badge SPS819). Above all his passion was helping people, working at the Prospect Fire Department's Children's Halloween Party, Church picnics', spending time at family reunions, time with his family and friends telling old stories on each other and laughing. He always had a joke and a good story up his sleeve. Bob's favorite response on how he was doing was "Just another Day in Paradise".

Visitation, where family will greet friends, will begin at 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 28th at Arch Heady Funeral Home at Rest Haven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky. I have many fond memories of lunch and hanging out listening to your colorful stories at your upholstery shop. I was there enough that Perry and I became best friends. I appreciated that you and Dot always made me feel like part of the family. Perry and I used to joke that I was Perry's brother from another mother. I really missed seeing you, Dot, Perry, Sherry and hearing about Terry after the shop closed up and my office moved to the east end. After your retirement I would frequently see you and Dot either driving to or being at McDonalds each with a cup of coffee and splitting a cheeseburger and fries:) You and Dot were so close that I'd rarely see you without Dot or Dot without you.
Rest in peace Bob,
Prayers for you and the whole family,
Love
Mike
