Charles "Steven" Smith

72 - passed away on December 23, 2020 at his home in California. He was born on October 6, 1948 in Louisville, KY to Charles R. Smith and Joyce Shaughnessy, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his dad, Glenn Shaughnessy and brother Mark Smith.

He was a Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam war as a radio operator on the USS Canberra. He worked for Pacific Bell from where he retired in 1994.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years and best friend, Peggy Smith; his children Chris Smith (Renee), Susie Cimadoro, Christopher Maine, Misty Butler (David) and six grandchildren. 8 siblings, Patricia Salmon (Doug), Ruth Ann Fetter (Paul), Jimmy Shaughnessy, Patrick Shaughnessy (Becky), Rick Smith, Gene Smith (Kathy), Ronnie Smith, Kelly Smith (Leona) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Steven chose cremation and there will be no services at this time.

Memorial gifts can be sent to Veterans of Foreign Wars Joshua Tree Post 7264 or Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue in Angelo Texas.

So sorry about Steve. He was my cousin and I did not see him often. I know you had a good marriage. He will be missed. God bless you.

Peggy our thoughts and prayers go out to you. I know how much you and Steve love each other. You have been such a great friend to Mom and I've always appreciated everything Steve did to help her over the years. Please find comfort and peace during this time Peggy and your entire family.
