David Self Obituary
Louisville - David Baker aka District Of Self, 48, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 3, 1970 in Louisville, Ky. He was an author, a craftsman, enjoyed creating beauty, and was a loving son, brother and uncle.
David was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Corbet Baker.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother Marcia Elizabeth Baker; brothers Steven Todd (April Hartford) Baker and Daniel Thomas (Amie Baltes) Baker; and nephew Evan Scott Baker.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2019 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "in St. Matthews".
Expressions of sympathy may be made as memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123

I grew up down the street from David and hadn't seen him or Danny since high school. I still have the baseball with his signature and the rest of the kids from our baseball championship back when we were 12 years old. I will always remember his sense of humor and and how he always gave 100% when competing in sports. My condolences to Ms. Baker, Steven and Daniel.

I met Dave when we were both 14 & freshmen at Trinity. We both went on to Waggener & beyond. We kept up through our 20s, & reconnected in our 40s.
Dave was profound & present as I grew up to become the person I am today. I will miss him very much.

I never met David in person, and I didn't need to to know that he was a very special person, he touched the hearts of so many, and he will be deeply missed! David I pray you are in the arms of an angel!!!! God bless this family who lost such a gem!
