Donald Lee Hoefflin

Louisville - Donald Lee Hoefflin went to his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 16 at the age of 88, surrounded by his family at home. He was devout lifelong Catholic and a member of St John Paul II Church (formerly St Barnabas) and a 1951 graduate of Flaget High School.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents, Edward and Clara Hoefflin; and two sisters, Doris Hackel and Norma Hoefflin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Mary (Walter) Hoefflin, 4 children, Ken (Robin), Paul (Karen), Bob (Theresa) and Pam Hoefflin Bell (Jeff), and his sister Mary Hoefflin. He has 6 grandchildren, Jason (Mary), Jacob, Rachel and Matthew Hoefflin, and Cody and Ashley Bell. He has his first great grandchild on the way. Don also has a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of the Korean War having been drafted into service. He was a clerk at Stratton & Terstegge and later a manager at both Romar Gleeson and Bensinger's Furniture. Don had an incredible work ethic that he instilled in all of his children. He loved a good joke and always had one to tell you. He enjoyed gemstones as a hobby and loved going to craft shows. Don will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation will be 2:00-8:00pm on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral mass will be Tuesday 10:00am at St John Paul II Church, with burial to follow in St Michael's cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus or St. John Paul II Church.
