Donald Schaftlein Obituary
Louisville - 88, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
He was an Army veteran who served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Don retired from General Electric as an Appliance Technician after 36 years of service.
He loved traveling, fishing, cooking and baking. He was a very good cook.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Wayne Schaftlein; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Ann and Ronald Seadler; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hope Schaftlein; brothers, Bruce and Paul; sisters, Linda and Ann.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret A. Schaftlein; sons, Michael Thomas Schaftlein, Richard Carl Schaftlein; daughters, Carolyn Jean Hobbs (David), and Angela Marie Rayman (Michael); brothers, David, Kenneth and Steve Schaftlein; grandchildren, Kyle Douglas Wood (Catherine), Chase Alan Wood (Christiana), Zachery Nathan Schaftlein, Noah Donald Schaftlein; great-grandchildren, Colette Emelia Wood and Donald Alan Wood.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday at Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run Road.
His funeral service will be 11am Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
