Doris Howard Obituary
73, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017.
She was a member of Greater Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Rev. Charles Davis Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Cornelius Howard; children, Wayne Howard (Katrissca), Angela Thompson (Jeff); 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; siblings, Cecil Davis (Loretta), Karolyn Hodge (Van), Charles Davis Jr., (Marina), sister in law, Dorothy Carter, host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation: 10am - 12pm Tuesday at Greater Salem Baptist Church, 1009 W. Chestnut St., with the funeral service to follow at noon, burial in Resthaven Cemetery
Arrangements: A. D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St.

Mrs. Howard was one of the sweetest women I knew, going back to my kindergarten/1st grade years as a friend of Angie. I loved going thru Bacons at Bashford Manor Mall just to say a quick hello to her. She always had a pleasant smile on her face with a warm hello. I must say that there is a party going on up there because they have a sweet one that's just entered. I will say that Mrs. Howard always had angel wings, but it is now that she gets to proudly wear them and soar!! Blessings to the entire Howard family, stay strong together.

Mrs. Howard was AMAZING, is all I can say about her charter as a woman, a mother, a neighbor, and a Believer in Jesus Christ! I was blessed to witness her life behind closed doors and publicly!

I am remembering the long telephone conversations & the friendship shared between my late sister Linda Crittendon, Jamar Davis, Jimmy Foree & Doris,Lincoln Institute classmates catching up, sharing laughs, memories. Doris was a very special person I had the privilege of knowing when we worked together many years age. She always had a great smile and kind word for everyone. She will truly be missed.
