Dorothy Smith Obituary
90, of Brooks, KY passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. She was the former Dorothy VanHoozer , retired from Ammunition Plant in Charleston, IN and member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; Harry Carl Smith & son George Timothy Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sohl (Ray), son, John Michael Smith (Carolyn Sue), grandchildren ; Jake (Greta), Jessica (Jason) & Omar (Abigail), great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob & Drew.
Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home & Cremation Services 411 Fairdale Rd. Fairdale, KY with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1-8PM Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

I'm Feeling very sad this evening.
Prayers are going up for a safe trip HOME up to Heaven for my Fairdale Pack 94 Cub Scout Den Mother from 1959-1962.
Dorothy Smith was a very sweet lady that always had a place in my heart ❤ . She was a mentor and one of my heroes!
Dorothy and her husband Harry Smith taught me a lot about life at the den meetings they volunteered in their Hollyvilla home every week. She was the "neighborhood extra-mother" to a lot of us boys.
