Tarter, Eddie Russell,

92, of Louisville died peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Russell was a native of Adair Co., KY, a longtime resident of Gadsden, AL, a member of Attalla First United Methodist Church and Crescent Hill United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Edith Williams Tarter; parents, Lucian Powers Tarter and Lillia Ann Stephens Tarter; sisters, Mable Dixon, Myrtle May Tarter, Mazel Tarter, Gladys Ferrell and Velma Jacobs; and brothers, Elbert and Finis Tarter.

He is survived by his sister, Avis Taylor; several nieces and nephews; other loving family members and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home 2723 Preston Hwy. with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. Thursday.

This sad news just reached me on 6/26. I was a neighbor and friend of Russ on N. Peterson Ave. We compared notes on raising tomatoes. He was always happy to talk about gardening and the weather. Enjoyed seeing him at his church at a meal. Really sorry I did not get to say goodbye to him.
