Frances Aileen Groves
Louisville - Frances Aileen Groves (nee Harkreader) of Louisville, Kentucky was born on
April 4, 1929 to the late Mattie Lou Storey Harkreader and Sidney Johnson Harkreader in Lafayette, Tennessee. She was the valedictorian of the 1946 graduating class of Macon County High School. Aileen was a pioneer in the professional women's insurance field. She served as President of the Nashville Insurance Women's Club and later founded Consolidated Transport Insurance Agency in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of Beargrass Christian Church and a former member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she served as a children's Sunday School teacher for many years. Aileen was a devoted Mother to her children and Grandmomma; Grandma; Mommo; Mars and Grammy to her beloved grandchildren.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Allison Ferree Cox (Doug) and grandchildren Clayton, William and Catherine; son Thomas (Tricia) Ferree and grandchildren Ava Belle and Stella Frances; son Timothy (Dana) Ferree and grandchildren Jacob; Jack and George Patrich; granddaughter Aileen Yvonne Waters; great-granddaughter Tasia Price and great-great grandson James Price; great-granddaughter Olivia (Mic) Kershner and great- great granddaughter Elora; grandson Richard William (Meredith) Brooks and great-granddaughter Adeline; and grandson Jonathan (Natalie) Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Phyllis Holliday; son Richard Brooks; daughter-in-law Carolyn Brooks and son Stephen Patrich Brooks.
The family wishes to thank her devoted JFCS caregivers Marie and Minouche as well as Hosparus Health of Louisville nurses Becky and Sherri.
Funeral Service Noon Thursday May 20, 2021 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation we be Wednesday May 19, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Pearson's.
Memorials to Aileen's memory may be made to Beargrass Christian Church or Jewish Family and Career Services (JCFS) in Louisville.
