Gary Rodgers.

Our mentor. When we wanted to give up on our concession business, you encouraged us to hang in there. You said "There are not many women in this type of business, so hang in there. Don't quit." You've encouraged us more than you'll ever know. Your passing really took us by surprise. We will miss seeing you at all the concession events. Especially setting up right beside you at Newburg Days. Thanks for all the free fish and chicken. Thanks for all the great advice. May God give your family peace.

Regards, the girls of "Dif'rent Aspects" - Lynda, Veronica & Chriss

My brother use to say, "Rita, you can lose your limbs, your eyesight, but, when you lose your mind you have lost everything." He also said,"Decision, Decisions some are good some are bad but, they have to be made. In life you never know why people say certain things. But as time goes along God lets you know what all of that means. My brother was telling us all these years how to handle the situation, and when the time came we knew just what to do. I would truly like to thank everyone for all of their prayers because little "Skeeter Rodgers" needed them and still does.

I was shocked when I heard of Gary's passing. Gary will truly be missed. I met Gary from buying his fish, "The best in Town," my mother always said when I stopped and picked her up some. After I told Gary how much my mother liked his fish, he , never having met her, always asked how she was doing. He always had kind words and a bright smile! Even in times when I knew he was ill, he always had the kind words and the bright smile. My sincere condolences to the family. May God Bless you.

Alpha Gardens Regatta Way! Memories! Lil Gary in his room drawing on his walls. Aunt Shawn in the kitchen cookin steak and onions. Uncle Gary and The Moonglows in the living room harmonizing "Float Float Float on" ! Kita and I in her room trying to make up some songs so that we can harmonize and sing to Uncle Gary. Kita's song was called "FLOWERS IN THE SKY". One of his favorite nieces still sings the song today!(Me!) But now I think about the words and how beautiful a flower and the sky(heaven above)!Flowers are touched by so many and brighten our moods, and are usually given to people from the heart with love. This to me is my Uncle Gary! He touched so many through his music, work, and family gatherings. Each person that he knew he made them feel special and right at home! Uncle would get sick and get well fast. Just like a wilting flower until you nurse it. He was so blessed and we are too!!!!Now our father our healer has come to take him home. He will be truly missed! Kita, Gary, Jennifer, Aunt Shawn, Ms. Liz and the Rodgers family you are in my prayers! Kita and you know what to do if you start feeling down! Go for the power!!!! I got your back! Just don't ask me to run or fight! I got you!!!Love Kim Bim!

To my cousins, "Little Gary" and Rikkita, you are both in my prayers as you grieve over losing your daddy. I remember Gary most during my late teens when I was proud to know and tell my friends that my cousin "sings with The Moonglows!" I'm sad to say that I hadn't seen or talked to him since the days of Pisces. I know that you miss him now and will always. But you now have another angel to watch over you both from Heaven. Rikkita, you are so right...that special bond that you and your daddy shared will never be broken!

May your hearts find peace and comfort knowing that he is resting with God and will suffer no more.

Peace and love,

Julie

I,wondered what ,I would write when I heared. The one thing that stuck in my mine was the 2005 Derby Parade. I saw you at the stand on broadway, and tried to get your attention. But the line was to long, you were very busy.I'll come back later, and get me some that wonderful fish, and maybe, talk to my friend for a moment. My good friend "G".Little did I know, that, that would be the last time I would see you again. To say that I will miss you goes without saying. My heart is sad,but soul feels lifted, because heaven, and our lord will receive a new angel, whoose spirit is everlasting, joy, unmatched. On behalf of the Enterprise Al[bass],Big kenny[tenor],Lamont[baritone], butch[lead],we bid you all the best with our love.Until we meet again.Gary do me a favor, say hi to Robert Ford,Al workman,& bobby for us.And please tell Elvis Presley to stop coming back all the time, its starting to confuse people. I love man,and I will miss you my brother.

The years bring many treasures. Some of these we are allowed to keep for the duration of our lives. Others are forced out of our hands, while we struggle to grasp onto them. "Brother in Law" was just such a treasure who has been snatched from our lives.

His influence, steadfastness, and sense of family will be forever missed. My heartfelt condolences on all who knew him.
