Harry Greenwell Obituary

GREENWELL, HARRY EDWARD, 68, of New Albin, IA passed away January 31, 2013 in Lansing, IA.

Harry, a man with many friends who loved his straight-up attitude, and his willingness to help anyone. His spirit will live on in many by good deeds he offered.

As a employee of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, providing public safety for 30 years, he retired February 2010. Harry enjoyed organic gardening, selling his organic produce at the local Farmers Market, traveling, reading, wordsmithing, avid college sports fan, and selecting winning thoroughbred horses.

Born on December 9, 1944, in Louisville, to Paul and Dorothy Greenwell.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Jenkins; son, Jason Greenwell, Elizabethtown, KY; daughter, Tracy Chambers; five children of Maryland; seven siblings, Kenneth Greenwell ( Sandy), Barbara Geiser, Richard Greenwell, Sharon Greenwell and Connie Greenwell of Louisville, Beverly Merz (Tom), of Industry, PA and Sylvia Greenwell (Alan) of Virginia; four nieces; one nephew; two great-nephews, and; one great-niece.

A celebration of his life will be held 1-6 p.m. Saturday in Community Center of New Albin, IA, followed by a special Mass at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Lansing IA on Sunday at 10 a.m. Harry will be inurned with a formal service at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, at 1p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013.
