James N. "Jim" Moses obituary, Louisville, KY

James Moses Obituary

MOSES, JAMES N. "JIM," a resident of Louisville, or more than 50 years, died October 28, 2013 in Cincinnati, OH, at the age of 95 after a brief illness.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Cloud Moses; daughter, Linda (John) Novak; stepdaughters, Diane (Rod) Zavisin and Jan (Greg) Plummer; and stepson, Doug (Beverly) Batson.

Jim was born in Oxford, NJ, on November 21, 1917, the son of Harold H. and Emily Moses. He earned a bachelor's degree from Moravian College and a master's degree in chemistry from Lehigh University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Savannah as a Lieutenant gunnery officer. He also served in the Naval Reserve in Louisville after the war. He worked for Devoe & Raynolds Co. and Celanese Corporation as a research chemist and retired in 1982.

Jim and Dorothy were married on January 2, 1999. They were active members of the Young Hearts theater group. Jim enjoyed gardening, woodworking and reading and was an excellent handyman.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY, on November 5, 2013.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dorothy Dell, I was so sorry to hear of the death of your husband Jim. I hope this finds you well, though. I remember with deep gratitude the trip you all made to Indy to visit Mommy in the weeks leading up to her death last year. My very best to Doug, Janice Lee and Diane Dell. Please express my sympathy to Jim's daughter.
