The Lord called Jeannie Home Sat, May 8, 4 days shy of her 90th b'day. Born in Kingswood, KY, her father moved his retail stores & the family to Leitchfield where she was raised, the oldest of 4. She attended Bethel Women's College for a yr. then married the love of her life, John Kinser, in 1951, & they settled in Louisville.
Jeannie worked over 20 yrs. for JCBE as audio/visual clerk in the library of Durrett & Westport H.S. From her teen yrs. she sang in the choir & was active in church committees, helping to lead worship at her retirement apt. complex. Many were privileged to hear her beautiful voice in duets and solos.
Jeannie was preceded in death 36 yrs. by her husband John; sister Clay & bro. Griffie Jr. She is survived by her bro. Richard Roberts; daughter Julie; son Jamie; grandchildren B.J., Clay, John (Tina); great-grandchildren Seth & Nova; sister-in-law Freda; & loving nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to WHAS Crusade for Children.

Just saw this. One of the greatest of the Parkway Village "Moms". Always accommodating and caring. Always there. She made it fun for me to grow up there. Tough loss Jamie and Julie. God bless her and John.

To Jamie, Clay, Julie, BJ and John, Jeannie chose to be a beacon of love and light during her time on this planet making it even more beautiful. Rest assured she is eternal love and light now. Sending healing prayers and heartfelt hugs to you all and all of her relatives.

On behalf of the WHAS Crusade for Children, we are very sorry for your loss. It is people like Jeannie who have made it possible for the Crusade to help children with special needs for over 67 years. Thank you for honoring her memory by remembering the WHAS Crusade for Children. Her legacy will be seen for years to come through the lives of children who are helped. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
