Jill Conley
Jill Conley died 8:45 Tuesday morning with her husband, Bart, and her mother, Rosemary Duchon, at her side. Duchon said "she went peacefully" and is now free of pain.

And those who knew Jill Brzezinski-Conley best say her light will shine on.

It's been a year that I met my lovely Jill. A year, and I lost her.
I never met Jill in person but I was drawn to her. I was Stage 4, a couple years past.
I saw this lovely girl in a beautiful gown in Paris. I read Jill's story and I wanted to walk beside her to let her know she wasn't alone. And that smile. That smile that makes your world shine. God lent Jill to us to remind us how wonderful life is.
My condolences to her parents, her wonderful husband Bart and her great friends. She had great friends.
I will miss her but I will meet her one day in heaven. Jill is now healthy, and on your brighter days, that is her smile sending you warmth.

I had the honor of hearing Jill tell her story at a Think Pink Luncheon for breast cancer in 2013 that The Daily Post-Athenian in Athens, TN sponsored. She touched my heart. She was just so uplifting that you would not guess she was fighting such a terrible disease. She is such an inspiration. A very beautiful lady with a beautiful soul. Will never forget her. God bless her husband, Bart; her mother and the rest of her family. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

Did I know Jill Conley? No, I did not. What a blessing that would have been for me! It's not every day that the one who is a victim of cancer is so willing to share her personal journey as Jill did.

How can one not admire, cherish, and respect the memory of such a dear lady? One who despite her affliction decided to become a helpmate to others facing cancer. To Jill Conley, I say "thank you" for sharing this part of your journey with so many, for reaching out to others- because you knew just how it was. Thank you for focusing on Love, giving it so freely and, hence, being so loved in return.

Thanks also to your remarkable husband whose everlasting love and devotion to you never faltered. Thanks, too, to your supportive family and friends for loving you and always being there for you.

And thank you, Courier Journal, for introducing your readers to this beautiful, courageous, awesome woman to whom our Heavenly Father is saying. . . "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

My deepest sympathy and prayers to the Bart Conley family. . .

To Jill's family friends and loved ones - I had the privilege of knowing Jill as a teen when we danced together at Masters of Dance in Michigan. In Jill's passing I've pulled out that old yearbook and found it ironic that the dance was Express Yourself, well she knew just how to do that! She will be missed.

Jill accomplished her goal in life that the Lord set out for her. She is so amazing and someone to look up to for she got what life was all about way before many of us I can see Jesus greeting her with a standing ovation and saying you are so amazing my faithful servent you got this life so quickly and then I'm sure Jesus wanted the first dance!!

A beautiful woman, a beautiful life, a beautiful spirit.

I've heard it said that if you are struggling, the best way to handle it is to find someone else with the same problem and help them.
Jill did this in spades. What could have been a private journey turned into a mission of love that helped more people than she ever realized. I hope God is showing this to her now.
Her work and her legacy will continue to grow and live on after we all are gone.
God bless Jill's family and friends and comfort them in knowing that they were a very important part of a miracle.

Bart, Rosemary & all of Jill's beloved family: I first became aware of Jill and her health struggles through Laura Unger's articles which followed Jill's cancer journey. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer in Mar. 2012, followed by a mastectomy. Then in Dec. 2013 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 B-Cell Lymphoma which was treated with 18 weeks of chemo. I only mention my diagnoses because my first "hairless" outing was to go hear Jill speak at the "Go Confidently" series at the Olmsted in early 2014. Her beauty, grace, humor, and fighting spirit made me realize that I was only experiencing a couple of "bumps in the road" in life and truly had nothing to complain about! I have continued to follow her very public journey and have kept her my prayers. Even though I didn't know her personally, she (and you!) did indeed give us the gift of "knowing" her by her openness and honesty. She will be missed, but her spirit and light will never die. What a difference she has made to this community and the whole world! God bless all of you. With deepest condolences, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to Jill and her family for allowing your story to be chronicled by the Courier-Journal. Your light will continue to shine as I, a total stranger to you, will always remember how bravely you faced your illness.

She had such a beautiful soul and spirit during her struggle and she has left a piece of that here on earth. God bless this beautiful angel and her family she has left behind.
February 4, 2016
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Rosemary and Bart, please accept my heartfelt condolences on Jill's passing. What an angel put on this Earth: to be with Bart and love her mother to the end of the world. Also, by the way, we all were lucky to be touched by her either through FB or email and I've been fortunate to have been friends with Jill for 7 years (the other day FaceBook reminded me!).
Bless Jill and Bart's families & friends and for Bart, you are the most awesome man in the world and she will always be shining a light on you. God Bless and RIP, Jilly Bean

To the family of Jill Conley - I do not know you nor did I have the privilege of knowing Jill, however, I did follow her journey. I too am a breast cancer survivor and want to say thank you to Jill for making me aware to live your life on a day by day basis not on a week by week; month by month or year by year basis. To Jill's mom - I recently lost my 32 year old son in an accident and wanted to tell you that my heart goes out to you and you and the entire family will be in my prayers - God bless each one of you.

I first saw you through the Paris video and wow!!!! Such a natural beauty. I was going through stage IIIC myself when I first saw it. You helped me. I followed you since wondering and thinking about you often. Once you get cancer, their is always a special bond in talking to or reading about another person that had the same location of cancer. I now understand the sisterhood and love that exists. I hope you are spinning and moving freely, your smile brighter than ever if that's possible. God bless you and your family and friends.

I first read of Jill's story in 2012, the same year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although I never had the opportunity to meet her, she had a profound affect on my attitude and outlook during my journey. I mourn her loss but celebrate the way in which she lived her life even in her final days. She will live on in the hearts of more people than she could have ever imagined. Stealing the phrase from someone else "fly high sweet angel"!
