Dana and Anthony Family,
Dana, I want to thank you for sharing a good brother in this world. He was just a good person who was always good to hang out with. His laughter and smile will be missed. I know GOD will provide. So be strong and hold on.
Kids your DADDY is not gone. Just waiting on you.

We will miss him, but to the brothers and sisters, be just that to one another and let GOD guide you. And love your mother like no other one can.

I will miss you my brother. TO THE EAST. I will see you again.

Greetings Anthony Family:

From our family to yours, please accept our heartfelt condolences on John's passing. John was one of the first persons to welcome us to the area when we arrived to Alpharetta a few years ago. John went out of his way to offer his help and guidance in any way he could. I've always admired his enthusiasm and zest for 'all things good' in life and that he wanted to make a difference. Find comfort in knowing his work and spirit will last in perpetuity, never to be forgotten. May God Bless you all and be rejoiceful as you remember him always. If there is anything our family can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to call upon us.

I will always remember those days when you brought the kids to NANA. It was such a joy for my mom to have the kids with her through the day. I remember many days when I would walk in the house and she would be holding Dakota and Trey on her lap, and feeding them something good she had cooked. Well your battle is over now, and you are resting with your Heavenly Father. I am sure by now you have seen NANA! You will be missed. Dana, GOD BLESS you and all of your family.

During our times at Louisville Male High, we had nothing but great times (especially on the track team). You were like a little brother to me, Kelly, and Shanetta. It's hard for me to even write (type this). Love you always and you will be missed by many. God has called you home for bigger and better things!

We were brothers on a love mission.

My prayers are with you Anthony family! I was so sorry to hear about John's departure. It hurt me so badly I cried uncontrollably. He and I met and talked and planned and agreed that because Jesus' life was the walking example of God on earth, and that the truth about God is Love as shown... in 1 John 4:16, that we would change coin the phrase and continue to say, "Only what you do for others will last." That was because we both understood that love translates to compassion, some know it and will show it, and there are some that don't and won't, but the scripture explains that God lives in each of us. That is the only way humans can live, breath and have being on this earth. I had planned to share with him the results of our plans in our meetings concerning living in "Compassion Action," imitating the love Jesus showed to the people. We agreed that we could be like Jesus in 3 ways: 1. Jesus was highly intelligent, 2. Jesus was totally committed and obedient to our father, and 3. Jesus was committed to the well being of everyone he could touch physically, mentally, and in His legacy. I cried because I couldn't see a celebration with John as I presented witness of the fruition of the dreams we discussed in our meetings. It would be good to sit with you the family and share some of these things with you, but I feel John's spirit is with me in the "Compassion Action" movement now more than ever. I welcome you to join me at the new network: http://apps.facebook.com/blognetworks/blog/the_compassion_industry_network/

To Mom (Ms.Brenda), Dana, Vincel, and Terry
I have known Junie for over 20 years. I married one of Junie's bestfriends (brother)Greg. Junie was the God father to our oldest daughter Alicia. Even at young age, he was there for Alicia's christening at Green Street Baptist Church. He always spoke words of life and encouragement to her and that was very important. GOD knew that she would see an example of a GODLY man not only in her father Greg, but in her relationship with her GODfather. He was so excited and happy when she got her first college acceptance letter. I could here my husband and Junie on the telephone talking about how they were dealing with a whole new issue now (boys and how they were going to scare them away, FUNNY!) Even though we had moved to the East Coast and his family in GA, he never forgot about us. We would talk on the telephone and laugh so hard,I would be screaming! He truly had the spirt of laughter. Family, I know words sometimes fall short to ease the pain. Please know that you can find rest in GOD's loving arms. Our hearts are very heavy, but I know we will see him again. Dana, keep pressing! You are a strong woman of GOD! Please let us know, if you need anything.

Your sister,
Loving you all,
Tonya George

What a wonderful impact Junie made on my life.I met him at Male High School his freshmen year.We had several classes together..and every class we had..we got in trouble for talking and laughing..I remember a time when we both got kicked out of class for busting out laughing, and we where sent to the prinicpals office..and on the way up to the office we where still laughing and also thinking about how we didn't want our parents to find out.And the first thing Junie said to Mr. Boone the Asst. Prinicpal is please don't call Brenda..I will do whatever you want me to do..but just don't call my house..and then he looked at me and said what about your momma and daddy finding out..and then we perceded to negotiate with Mr. Boone and he even started laughing. And then we looked at each other and busted out laughing again.. and got in trouble all over again.. and all the great times at Canaan..such wonderful memories..Junie definitely was a jewel..He really had the gift of laughter..He will be dearly missed..Will continue to pray for you and your family.

When we were young newlyweds, Junie invited us to church-- luckily, we had just enough sense to go. Junie demonstrated the love of Christ to us and the impact of his kindness remains felt in our lives today.

Thank you, Junie, for seeing the potential in a young couple and pointing us to Christ. We can never repay you, but I know you are receiving your full reward today.

Dear Dana & Family,

I am shocked and saddened by the loss of this young, exuberant man.

One thing I could always count on at Clear Channel was to see the smiling, loving face of John Anthony when I rolled into the sales department. I loved his incredibly positive attitude and willingness to help others.

What a great legacy of love he left behind for the rest of us to savor. Thank you, my friend, for your amazing friendship and strength of spirit.

August 27, 2010

I first met Junie in our high school days at LMHS, and later knew him and Dana as a couple as they were some of my sister's friends in college. I guess God wanted me to distinctly remember the last time I saw and spoke with him. As ironic as it was I was traveling on business about a year or so ago in South Florida, and how comforting it was to run into a familiar face, "with a smile," from home. It was Junie and he had also been sent that way for business. Who would have thought it? We briefly caught up and by all accounts Junie appeared to be happy with work and family life.

I was saddened to hear of Junie's passing. As Believers we know that he will be waiting for us in our Heavenly home. My prayers are certainly with Dana, their children, and the rest of the Anthony family. May God's peace be with you.

August 27, 2010

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

John was ALWAYS a source of encouragement for me. When my son was diagnosed with a terminal cancer, when he died and when I thought I as going to die as a result. He and I called each other "prayer partners" but it was John who offered up the prayer. He always did it better than I. He was supportive. When I was struggling with a radiothon for "Christian Children's Fund", John did a fantastic on air interview that generated dozens of pledges. I regret he and I didn't keep closer contact after we left Radio One. I guess we figured we had time and would catch up "one day". But tomorrow is not promised. One doesn't know how much they'd miss someone until it's too late. My prayers to Dana and the children, family and friends of John.

Yes, we are saddened here on earth that his physical body will no longer be with us....but let us remember how beautiful his spirit is. And how much joy he brought to us all. I am so sorry about your loss, Anthony Family. I've known Junie since the sixth grade and he was one of the funniest people at school. Although I haven't seen him since our senior days at Male, he had an unforgettable presence and when I heard of his passing, I immediately saw his face.

I am praying for a covering of peace and comfort during this extremely difficult time. Please know that I am in mourning with you.

Junie was a great friend through out our high school years together. May god give the Anthony Family all the strength during this time.
