John Clifford Obituary
Age 71
Passed away peacefully Tuesday Jan 23, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born September 10, 1946 in Louisville, KY to Frank Clifford Jr and Irene Conniff Clifford.
Wally graduated from St. Xavier High School In 1965, and attended Western Kentucky University and Bellarmine University.
He served proudly in the United States Navy, and Completed two tours in the Mediterranean serving on the USS Concord AFS 5.
Wally Returned to Louisville and joined the family business, Clifford's Body Shop, and operated it for 40+ years.
Wally loved his family, friends, Gulf Shores Alabama and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents Frank Clifford Jr & Irene Conniff Clifford and brother in law, Sam Noe.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan Riney Clifford; daughter Dani Clifford(Casey); step mother, Carole Tobey Clifford; sisters, Pat McTigue (Tom), Lynn Noe, Suzanne Altman (Ron); brothers Paul Clifford (Angela), Tom Clifford (Sue); step brother Greg Oberst (Maggie); many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews" from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Saturday with a Celebration of Life starting at 1p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association.
The family expresses their gratitude to The Cardiology, Vascular and Wound Care Centers at Baptist East Hospital.

Miss you like you were here yesterday. As often as Nancy and I go to Heine Bros. I still think about you every time I walk in there. Funny, but youd think Kerns or Bambi would supply those memories, but havent been to either in many years/decades.
Miss seems by Susan and Danni but know youre keeping watch over them.

For many years I worked away from my home, Louisville. I frequently returned and always stopped by Kern's; Wally was there often on Saturdays and he always made me feel welcome. We were classmates. Thank you Wally.

My family sends our deepest sympathy to Wally's family and friends! My parents spent many a fabulous winter in Gulf Shores AL in one of Wally's Condos. We always believed that he had a special place in his heart for them. My parents were Howie and Claire Kahl who passed away several years ago. They loved Wally!!

Wally was a great cousin! Because he was 18 years older than me, he was really like a 'cool' uncle. I'll never forget driving to Texas in his Mercury with the crush velour seats when we were kids! He was always kind to our family and I know he held a special place in Dad's (uncle Jack's) heart. RIP Wally!

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Wally from the many nights he stayed at our house growing up, to our rides home from babysitting, to Gulf Shores and the list goes on.
