Mike and I enjoyed many evenings watching
basketball games and other sports events with John and the boys. We also enjoyed
many evenings playing cards with John and
Karen. He was a good friend to us.

John, I inherited a relationship with you thru Jo-Mar and have never regretted it, and the dedication you have had and passion for bball and soccer; you are the most improved referee i have come across in my 35-40 years of affiliations with some of the very best! Learn from the best, as you have done and you will never turn around; KEEP YOUR WHISTLE READY, FOR THE NEXT BIG GAME IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER; May God Bless your family.

I'm deeply saddened by John's passing. I refereed with John and was assigned games by him. I believe he tried to live a joyful and compassionate life. He was a good man who loved the Lord. He will be missed.

John was a good friend. On our car rides to games, we had great laughs and deep discussions but mostly he was always trying to get me into some web-based business ... LOL. He will be missed and always remembered. Love you my friend.

I knew John as a brother in Theta Tau Fraternity at UofL. He was in the class a year ahead of me. I recall him being a very pleasant, soft-spoken, even-tempered, honest individual, who would look you in the eye and respect you for who you were.
On behalf of all of John's Theta Tau brothers, may I say thank you for your companionship and serivce to our country, John, and may you rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

John was a fantastic person who always had a smile on his face and would always volunteer to help regardless of who asked. He loved to refer whether it was basketball or soccer and did it with the same smile that you see in his picture. I am glad I was a friend of John's. Sam Hayward
