As fellow undergraduate swimming teammates at UK, I recall John to be very intellectual but easily approachable and friendly... a great guy.

Nancy, I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. If I ran into him in the kitchen at RWSV, I always say GM John, doing okay. He would give me a thumbs up. (meaning he was upward so that was good). He was a good man and always bragged about his family.

He was a great friend for many years through NACLO, Community Leadership, Leadership USA and of course golf. He was a true leader and friend to all of us who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him....and we especially enjoyed the golf outings.

For you, Nancy, and to Jay and Ali...It is the loss of such a good person that is sad! You are all feeling that loss most personally.
John was such a good person who did so much good for his community and nationally in terms of leadership development programs and thinking. Those of us involved in that work respected and loved John for his thoughtful contributions to creating community Leadership Programs around the US and supporting the program in Louisville. None of us can say enough good things about John but we will try. I KNOW He loved all of you and cherished his time with you. He was a trusted contributor to creating and supporting community leadership both locally and around the US...John was a living, breathing example of leadership and he was so proud of all of you in his family. I am sure you will treasure the many loving and kind things folks will say about how he loved and supported so many people starting with all of you! I will keep you all in my prayers...and I will continue to cherish John for the great work nationally and in Louisville and for his love of all of you!

Sending lots of love to Nancy and John's family, he was such a wonderful soul and I am grateful to have met and worked with him through the Leadership Louisville Center. He had so much passion for the betterment of our community and building a strong future generation of leaders. I enjoyed his laughter, smile, and great ideas, I know that we are all better for having known him. May you all be comforted in your grief and find joy in your memories.

Dear Nancy,
I am so sorry to learn of your husband´s death. Although I have been retired for many years, my thoughts often return to the friends I made during my working years. Please know that John, you and your children will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Please take care.

I am saddened, this morning, to learn of John Reed's passing. We've lost, yet another, legal giant of the bar and the community at large.
I have great admiration for John and his life's accomplishment -- truly in the Ancient Greek philosophical tradition - of leaving your city better than it was when you received it.
It was an honor to have known John and his intrepid determination to succeed in life despite his disease's limitations. Rest in Peace, John, for a life well led and a host of your accomplishments
