I'm a senior at Winfield City High School in Winfield, AL. My government class is doing a project on fallen troops. We are to find three fallen soldiers that share the same first, middle, or last name as us.
I enjoy playing piano and being with friends and family. I'm also a cheerleader and run track. When I graduate I plan to go to college to become a pharmacist.
If you would like to respond, email my teacher, Coach Wilson, at [email protected]

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you, Taylor Famly. ooh-rah to this brave Marine and all his loved ones. There really are no words adequate to ease your pain; just know that to millions of Americans, HE IS A REAL HERO!! Taylor Family - My prayer is this poem I wrote will comfort you. FALLEN HEROES - From the time I was conceived God had for me a plan. He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man. I know some were against it but God knows what is best. Since the day He took me home I've had perfect rest. Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold. Now I'm serving others including saints of old. I know some still have anger about the way I died but God and I both have seen the many tears you've cried. He is a God of comfort whose love will never cease. Give your feelings to Him and He will give you peace. As difficult as it may be please don't hold a grudge. Remember this my loved oens God alone will judge. Then on that resurrection day when all the dead will rise the Lord will reunite us together in the skies. I'm having the best time up here so don't be sad and blue. I'm looking forward to the day when I can usher you into this very special place where freedom is truly free and you will have the honor to worship God with me.
Thank you Johnathan for your service.

I am sorry for the loss Cpl. Johnathan W. Taylor. No matter when a love one leaves they are gone too soon. Death separates family members causing great loss. Thus, while you mourn Cpl. Johnathan W. Taylor's death, celebrate his rich life. His life has shown courage for which there is no metal. You may feel paralyzed by a loss such as this. Do not let your be troubled. (John 14:27) Remember, God can help you to endure any sadness. Even the strong may weep under the weight of grief. But, there is a time to weep. (Ecclesiastes 3:4) Jesus wept when he lost his dear friend. His footprints that were left will always be seen. The sands of time will not wash them away.

To the Family of
I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Marine standing guard. Amen.

To the Taylor family,
My son Lcpl Matthew Cochrane was a good friend of John's, he loved him and considered him a brother. John stayed at our home in Alabama a few times when the boys came home on leave. I enjoyed meeting him and getting to know the fine young man he was. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief and may the Lord give you comfort and peace that surpasses understanding as you go through this time. You have so much to be proud of as your son served our country with such dedication and love. "Blessed are those who morn for they shall be comforted". Matthew 5:4

Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered

And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

Deb,

It's hard to find words to express my deepest sympathy for your loss and the loss to your entire family. You and I barely knew each other, but we saw each other almost daily for a few months when I would stop in at your work place at 4 in the morning. I drove the yellow Jeep with the upsidedown frog. I had no idea that this was your Johnathan until I saw the news just a few minutes ago showing the service at Lecanto High School.

My thoughts are with you and I will keep you, your family and your Johnathan in my prayers. I must say Thank You to you for allowing your son to pursue his heart and serving his country so that all of us may enjoy the freedoms that we take ever so lightly at times. It is men like your Johnathan that makes us safe and keeps us out of harms way. He served with pride in a way that can never be understood by many, but his dedication to God and Country will protect us all.

All my prayers are with you and your family.

Please don't hestiate to contact me if there is anything that I can do for you.

Our Marines are a dedicated force that love Our Country, The Great United States of America.

Jonathan was among the elite that stand tall with honor knowing he was there fighting to keep this land the way our founding Fathers wanted it and that was and still is to be "free" and to help keep all of us safe.

His dedication and commitment to this Country, and to his family, his friends and to all of us that live in this Great Nation, will be forever a part of his legacy here on earth.

Jonathan set an example for all of us to stand tall and be proud Americans.

His service, his pride and his dedication to protecting our country and for making it possible for us to have the liberties and freedoms that we do, have not been in vain. He was truly one of the brave!

Please know that although we are all spread out over the country sides and cities of America, we praise your son and sing his name in a chorus of voices that want you, his loved ones, to know we so love and appreciate Jonathan as a man that not only loved his country, but was willing to stand up and fight for it. Leaving all of the comforts of home behind is something many are not willing to do.

Jonathan not only talked the talk but God Bless him he walked that walk and no matter how tough his days were, he was there for us making a stand for feedom and sacrifices that many of us will never know.

We, as Americans, appreciate what your son sacrificed for us. Our hearts are broken with the loss of Johnathan and for you.

May you feel our love and our embraces and find peace within during this time of grief and of healing and may your memories of this precious Marine and loved one sustain and comfort you.

God be with you.
Warmly,

My husband and I, by chance, met Deborah Taylor at the RaceTrac station on Hwy 44 this past Sunday night. My husband is a Marine and fought in Vietnam. Warren had a poster of Marines in their uniform, heads bowed for a fallen officer. We returned home and brought it to Deborah. It was our privilege and honor to give it to the Taylor family. We brought the poster to the funeral home on Thursday. Mrs. Taylor said she has a memorial wall in her home for Johnathan and will place the poster there. Deborah, we are honored to have met you and your family...may God Bless you all at this very difficult time. Johnathan is a hero to us and his country. SEMPER FI, MY BROTHER

Hey brother, you were our class leader in Cpl's Course and you were an outstanding example of what it meant to Lead. I pray that the heavens have Received you and that you may in turn watch over us all. Semper Fidelis.

Because of your great love for this country, you gave the most valuable gift you could give - your life to protect us all. Thank you is not enough; but it is all I can say. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Words cannot begin to express how I feel about the sacrifice this young man made for my freedom. I will forever be indebted to Cpl. Johnathan W. Taylor, his family, and all military personnel throughout this great nation. May God bless Cpl. Taylor and hold his loved ones through this tragedy.
