Judith H. Schley
Jeffersontown - Judith H. Schley, 82 of Jeffersontown, passed away April 7th , 2021. She was born in Nelson County, Kentucky to the late James and Phyllis (Long) Hungate. Judy was raised in Taylorsville and moved to Jeffersontown in 1955. Judy was a professional musician, devoting her wonderful musical talents to Jeffersontown Christian Church for 65 years. She served in many roles at her beloved church including organist, keyboard accompanist for various children's, youth and adult choirs, director of the hand bell choir, longtime member of the Chancel Choir, dedicated participant of various committees, women's fellowship groups and positions of leadership. Judy also served as a piano instructor, teaching hundreds of local kids. Judy also shared her musical talents by playing the keyboard for local nursing homes, funeral homes and other choral groups. She truly had a "servant's heart".
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Foreman of New York City, who passed away March 23, 2021.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Schley, daughter Rozalind Foreman Stone (Gary) of Ft. Worth, Texas, son Clay S. Foreman of Louisville, brother Charles E. Hungate, and her four grandchildren: Lee Foreman (Carolyne), Kaylin Foreman, Barrett Stanford (Drew) and Avery Tanner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM Saturday, May 15th at Jeffersontown Christian Church, 10631 Taylorsville Road. The family will receive visitors after 9 AM until the time of service.
