Kenneth Easley Obituary

SHELBYVILLE EASLEY, KENNETH JACKSON, 84, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008. Kenneth was born in Frankfort, KY, November 21, 1923, youngest son of Albert Augustus Easley and Lena Gibbs Easley. Kenneth married Lucy Gentry Taylor on January 26, 1949. They had ten children, all of whom are living. Kenneth was a graduate of Frankfort High School, member of First Baptist Church in Frankfort, served as an Army medic, in the Sudan, during World War II and was a 1949 graduate of the University Of Kentucky College Of Pharmacy. He and his wife operated The Prescription Shop, in Shelbyville, from 1960-1985. He had previously worked at Horn Drug Store, in Frankfort, KY and Smith-McKenney Pharmacy, in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Jefferson Co. Academy of Pharmacy and the Kentucky Pharmacists' Association, Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Rho Chi, VFW, of Shelbyville and was awarded the National Association of Retail Druggists' Pharmacy Family of the Year, in 1967. He is preceded in death by his brother, Albert Gibbs Easley; and his parents. He is survived by his children, Lucy Ann Mackey (James), of North Vernon, IN, K. Jack Easley (Sydney), of Shelbyville, KY, Albert Easley (Joann), of Westerville, OH, Paul Easley (Kathy), of Fisherville, KY, Joe Easley (Melinda), of Shelbyville, KY, David Easley, of Louisville, KY, Lannon Easley, of Shelbyville, KY, Lena Lundgren (Carl), of Scottsburg, IN, Mary Dan Easley, of Shelbyville, KY and Will Easley (Pam), of Louisville, KY; 18 grandchildren, Amanda Mackey, of Eugene, OR, Craig Mackey, of Louisville, KY, Danny Easley (Mary), of Louisville, KY, Gentry Easley (Doug Lotz), of Cincinnati, OH, Jeremiah Easley, of Ocala, FL, Jamie Easley (Martina), of Travis AFB, CA, Leslie Mylin (Chris), of Delaware, OH, Addie Easley, of Westerville, OH, Taylor Easley, of Indianapolis, IN, Logan Easley, of Indianapolis, IN, Holden Easley, of Fisherville, KY, Lucy Easley, of Fisherville, KY, Ben Easley (Cathy), of Costa Mesa, CA; Paige Kapp (Jake), of Lexington, KY, Katie Lundgren, of Carbondale, IL, Erika Lundgren, of Sellersburg, IN, William Easley, of Louisville, KY and Julia Easley, of Louisville, KY; and seven great-grandchildren, Catlin Mylin, Kylie Mylin, Parker Easley, Connor Easley, Helen Easley, Jackson Easley and Searcy Lotz; and a cousin, Dorothy Green Collings, of Shelbyville, KY. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shannon Funeral Home, in Shelbyville. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Frankfort Cemetery.
