Louis Michael Drury
Louisville - Louis Michael Drury, 79, was born August 2, 1942 in Louisville to the late James Ezra and Mary Lou Rogers Drury.
Mike Drury passed away peacefully at 4 p.m. Friday, September 24th after a short illness. He was in the caring hands of some beautiful people at Seneca Place. Bless them all.
Mike returned to Louisville in 2014 after a 50 year absence. He left Louisville in 1974 to enlist in the Air Force, serving for 14 years in several places in the far east as well as in Texas and Colorado here at home. Mike retired from AT & T in 2005.
He loved to travel and was able to travel all over the world. Mike adored train travel as well as by air and was totally at home in the airport. The grass was always greener!
Mike is survived a daughter Tara; his siblings, Carolyn Ann Samuels (Paul, deceased), James Anthony Drury (Barbara), Roger Drury (Mary), Michelle Yvonne Drury-Recktenwald (Robert), and Barbara JoAnn Thomas (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Wayne Drury and Mark C. Drury and a sister, Bonnie Cain.
Mike's funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 29th at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m. Visitation and Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue in Prospect. Burial will take place at a later date at Kentucky Veterans' Cemetery Central. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wounded Warriors
