Louise Hemmer Obituary

Hemmer, Louise,

94, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014.

She was born in Louisville to the late Emil Hess and Lela Bush on December 28, 1919.

Louise was a long-time member of both the Louisville China Painters Guild and the Kentucky Order of the Amaranth. She attended church regularly as long as she was able and always lived her life guided by strong Christian values and a resolute belief in the power of prayer.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Lenwood Hess.

She is survived by her husband of more than 75 years, John G. Hemmer; her brother, David J. Hess (Estelle); her daughter, Toska Royall; her son, John D. Hemmer; three grandchildren, Michelle Royall, Todd Hemmer (Caryl), and Brent Royall (Melinda); and five great-grandchildren, Mia and Alex Royall and Daniel, Elizabeth and David Hemmer.

Visitation will be Monday after 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

She was the most amazing woman and she taught me many things about the beautiful moments in life. Even though I lost touch with her, she always remained in my heart. She and John were a big part of my life for many years and I'll never forget those years. Love to her family.
