Madalyn Maust Obituary

Madalyn E. Maust, 83, of Hanover, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at The Shepherd's Choice, Gettysburg, where she had been a resident for a short time. She was the loving wife of Walter E. Maust Sr., to whom she was married since Sept. 28, 1940. Born in Hanover on Aug. 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Anna Stambaugh Flickinger. Mrs. Maust was a member of the class of 1937 of Eichelberger High School. She also attended Western Maryland College. She worked in retail sales in various stores in Hanover, most recently at the former W.T. Grant Store. Mrs. Maust was a lifetime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. She was also a member of the YWives and the AARP meeting at Trinity. Mrs. Maust is survived by her children, Walter E. Maust Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Hanover; Elaine C. Bobick and William of Fenellton, Pa.; and Lynne M. Scott of Hanover; her grandchildren, Julie Helman, Erica Neiderer, David Maust, Damon Horner, Paul Horner and Kristin Scott; and five great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Her pastors, the Revs. Julian E. Hall and Bradley E. Rentzel, will officiate at her service of remembrance. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The National Parkinson Foundation Inc., 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Fla., 33136.
