Magdaline Stinson Obituary
Maggie was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for over 60 years and actively served in many ministries and clubs. She taught at the parish school from 1961 through 1997, the last 10 as a substitute teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur.
She is survived by her children, Mary Doris "Buddie" McCubbins (Jim), Artie (Linda), Richard (Lucinda), Susan Stevens (Gary) and Karen Straub (Tommy); her sister, Ruth Powell; as well as 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Catherine Bradley and Beverly Stinson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive. Visitation will be on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. A private burial will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Notre Dame Academy and Shively Area Ministries.
Our family wishes to thank Mike and Michelle Allen as well as the residents and staff of the BeeHive Home of Lyndon for their care, love & support of Mom and all of us the past two years.
