I have had Marlene on my mind so much and just wanted to put my thoughts in place. What a wonderful sister. What a personality what fun she was for me and I know she is looking down at us and smiling on us. I miss her phone calls her laughter her friendship. may God bless each of you.

Lisa thanks for allowing me to see this and as I reflect back on Marlene's life how she influence me and how she showed me what true love is and the Christ like ness that she showed all of us. What a wonderful legacy she has left and what great memories that I have in my heart. She was the best sister and she showed me what life is so important. I know I am a better person because she was a part of my life and she influenced me in so many ways.I miss her so much. I know she is with OUR LORD and praise God no more suffering.She is with Mom and Dad Roma Verna and I know she is very happy. Itis our hearts that are so sad. You remind me so much of her. May God keep blessing you and Brian and Chris we can rejoice she is in heaven.

I know that my Mom and Dad are enjoying perfect days in an awesome place called Heaven and for that I am blessed. I miss them but one day I will be with them again and what joy will that be. Mom's journey seems like yesterday and so many times I want to call her name or ask for her help. Mom, keeping dropping those coins...I love your spunk! Continue to guide me and my family and help me to fulfill my goal to walk like Christ. I praise God for the time on earth that I had with my parents and for the life lessons learned. They are sustaining for my soul......Isaiah 40:8

I just wanted to say how much I love and miss Marlene. Marlene enters my thoughts daily and I miss her friendship so much. I also miss hearing about each of you...Lisa, John, Brian, Chris, the kids, and sisters. Please know that I love each of you and think of you often. You stay in my prayers. It doesn't seem right to no longer have Marlene with us. But, I know she is in a better place, it is just selfish on my part to want to have her back. She was a beautiful person with a precious smile and such a giving heart; we loved her so much. It was hard when our circle of sisters was broken when we lost Roma and now we have lost Marlene. It just hurts. She was so good to everyone and loved being Nannie to Sloan, Beckett and McClain. She loved Lisa, Brian and Chris so much and I hope that you can find comfort in the beautiful thoughts you will keep with you of a mother who loved you dearly. Her life was just cut way too short. I guess God needed an angel. She and Howard were a team and now they are on God's team. My love, Verna Carol

You will always remain precious in my heart and I long to see you again. You were a true example of a Christian woman and I am so thankful for the way you taught me and loved me for so many years. Sometimes when I drive past your neighborhood on my way home I can hear your sweet laugh. Oh the joy that overflowed from you. I strive to be more like you! Thank you for the love you freely gave. I can't wait to be in your presence again. I can't believe a year has passed without you here with us - but I rejoice in knowing where you are.

I am so sorry about your Mother. I just found out today when I read the Hospice Passage. Marlene was a dear friend from the days in Lexington. I have never met a kinder person or more loving one. We
worked together years ago at the drug company in Lexington. I know she will be deeply missed.

Brian, Chris, and Lisa, We was late hearing about your loving mother. She touched so many of us,and will be missed so much. She never knew a stranger, and always said " I Love You". I feel so sad about your mother. I always had so much fun with her when we used to do things together. I, like Chandra, remember the good time we had in Chicago at the IGA Convention. Marlene was such a wonderful person. She had all the attributes you could want in a person. She and Howard made such a strong and loving team; they were greatly admired by all who knew them. I know that after the pain of her passing subsides you will be able to recall so many wonderful memories of your years with her.

I met Marlene 20 years ago when she and Howard joined Torbitt & Castleman. It didn't take long before we were like family. We shared so many happy times. I will always remember her smile, her smell(design cologn), her laugh, her jokes and her cooking (white choc cake, BBQ and choc chip cookies). She was always by my side and I couldn't have survived without her. Marlene lived her life to care and love others. I thank God that we were blessed to have Marlene and her family in our lives. I know she is no longer sick, she is with Howard and receiving many well earned rewards in heaven. May we all learn to love and give as Marlene did everyday. Lisa, John, Sloan, Beckett, MacLain, Brian, Chris, Jennie Lou, Rose, Patsy and Verna, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Marlene was very kind to me by emailing and sending cards and coming to my husband's funeral service when he passed away in 2003. Marlene had told me that her husband, Howard and my husband, John were good friends through the grocery business. (My husband working for Save a Lot for 19 years.) I have always considered Marlene one of my best friends since high school, although I have not been in touch with her much for the last serveral years. Marlene was a very special lady. I worked with her for several years while she was at Torbitt and kept in touch after she left. With Deepest Sympathy, I am honored to have known such a caring and wonderful person as Marlene. When I started at Torbitt & Castleman, she always came down in the morning to check up on me. Marlene always wore this perfume and she would always give me a hug. Needless to say I had the scent of Marlene lingering on me all day long. =)
I'll never forget the footprints she's left on me. She was a wonderful Godly woman!
