Mary Ellen Schweichler

Louisville - Mary Ellen Schweichler (Carter) lived a full life, born in Buffalo, NY October 19, 1931, and passed July 15,2021 in Louisville, KY. She moved to Kentucky in 1999 to be surrounded by love, laughter, music and intelligent conversation with her beloved family and friends.

She was a graduate of Nardin Academy, attending on a full academic scholarship, the State University of NY- Buffalo (magna cum laude) as well as many other educational certifications and extensive volunteer involvement.

Her most treasured activity, second only to her children and grandchildren, was her Southtown Developemental Preschool, established by her in Hamburg, NY.

She worked for many years at SUNY Buffalo, most importantly at the school of Medicine and the Department of Health Behavioral Sciences.

Pre-deceased by her son in law Teddy Weber.

She is survived by "my loving and beloved of my heart - children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren", children - Michele Chapman (Walt Koczot), Richard Schweichler (Sandi), Maria Schweichler (Joseph Walsh), David Schweichler, Beth Schweichler (Teddy Weber); grandchildren -Josh (Maria), Taylor, Daniel, Joseph, Sam, Paddy, Culley, Eavan, Teddy Marie; great grandchildren - Gracie and Miles, all of whom will miss her very much.

She has chosen cremation with her ashes to become one with "Mother Earth and Water". Private service for family in Louisville, Kentucky.
