Mayor Max Hamilton Pullen Sr.

PULLEN, MAYOR MAX HAMILTON SR., 62, of Lady Lake, Florida, died Sunday, August 31, 2008. He was born in Sparksville, Kentucky and moved to Lady Lake, FL from Louisville in 1997. He attended the First Baptist Church of The Villages. He was a U.S. army veteran. Max was a Lady Lake Town Commissioner and elected Mayor in 2004. He was former owner of Maxx Express Trucking Company, Louisville, and former Florida Regional Manager of Eagle Express. Max was presented the Kentucky Colonel Award by Governor Martha Layne Collins. He was a University of Kentucky basketball fan. He was devoted to his family, his grandchildren and the Town of Lady Lake. He is preceded in death by his sister, Pat Ray. He is survived by his wife, Linda Pullen, of Lady Lake; son, Max Hamilton Pullen Jr.; daughter, Kasi Leigh Pierce; stepsons, Sean Lyons, Larry Lyons Jr.; and stepdaughter, Judi Lyons, all of Louisville; brothers, Everette Pullen of Georgetown, IN, and Bill Pullen of Corydon, IN; sister, Faye Rice of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Christian Church Chapel, Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, KY. Family will be present to receive friends and guests 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Lady Lake Library Fund, Town of Lady Lake, 409 Fennell Boulevard, Lady Lake, FL, 32159.
