Michael Stengel Obituary
He was a native of the Highlands in Louisville. He professed his vows as a Passionist in 1950 and was ordained a priest in 1957. As a priest, Fr. Stengel generously served as a seminary formation director, novice master, retreat director, itinerant preacher, provincial and local superior.
He is survived by his Passionist community; brother, John Stengel and his wife, Edna Bryant Stengel; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass will be at noon Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial in the Passionist Monastery Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the church. There will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Bosse Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Passionists, 1924 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205.
