Rachel Willingter Obituary

Willingter, Rachel Bennora,

94, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on July 6, 2015,

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bingham Willingter, Sr., her brother, James William Baker; and her parents, Rachel Everette Bybee and William Eugene Baker.

Bennie was a long-time member of the Broadway Baptist Church and active in the Choir. She was also active in the Women's Club of Louisville. Bennie was a member of Kappa Delta sorority at the University of Louisville where she graduated in 1942 with a Bachelor of Arts. She was also active in the P.E.O. Chapter "A", St. Matthews Women's Club, the University of Louisville Alumni Association, and a member of the U of L University Club, Cherrywood Homemaker's Group and the Filson Club.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Paul Bingham Willingter, Jr. of Louisville and Jenny Scott Willingter of Houston, TX. Another person who was very fond of Bennie was Dottie Lott, her long time hairdresser and very dear friend.

Bennora's joys included playing bridge, traveling, the performing arts, nature, and spending time with her friends. Thanks should be given to Atria St. Matthews and especially to Magnolia Springs for their loving care of her in the last two weeks of her life.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday July 13, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park 4400 Bardstown Lane.

Expressions of sympathy can be sent to the University of Louisville School of Music, Broadway Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
