I knew Ron when he directed the Gospel Choir at the New Vrindaban City of God Community in Marshall County, West Virginia. He served there from about 1988 or so until around 1992, as I recall. I was the community/temple music director from 1986 to 1993. He was a fine singer and actor, and I felt blessed to have him as a colleague. He played the lead role in two musicals I wrote in 1990 and which were performed several times. Here's a link to one of the musicals: https://youtu.be/NFUE_yqyV5E. I discovered this obituary after searching for him, as I am writing a book about the music at the New Vrindaban Community, and Ron played a prominent role in the music. I am sorry to hear he passed away so many years ago. I have attached three photos of him during his performance of "Journey to the City of God" (October 6, 1990). My affectionate wishes to him, his family friends, colleagues and associates. Henry Doktorski (Temecula, California)

I just found out that Ron had gone to Heaven. I was talking to a friend about him, still not knowing. They ask, when's the last time you seen Ron. I informed, about 1 1/2 years, they replied, you need to see your friends more often. Ron was, IS, a very gifted person that does only what Ron can do with a church chour. I know that they are now having a Holy Ghost Party in Heaven.
P. S.
I challenge very one that reads this, to find a friend that you have not seen for some time. Don't wait until it's too late just to say "WHAT'S UP OLD FRIEND"

Ron was an outstanding contributor of his excellent skills at Hill street Baptist Church. He enjoyed the gift God gave him and was giving of that gift as he took the choir to a level unmentionable. He performed with grace agility and the choirs joined his lead. I remember most..."Reaping the Harvest God Promised Me." Ron, you are doing that just now. Perform along with the other angels and they, too will give their utmost as did Hill Street. I am thankful and feel especially blessed to have had the fleeting opportunity to be in his presence. To the family, I know you loved him, but God loved him best. He only allows us to have them for a brief period, but we now have those precious memories. God bless you and keep you in His care.

To the family of Ron Hayes, Ron was my choir director at New Horizon Full Gospel Baptist Church. After that I sung with him in a group he had put together. He pushed me to be the best vocalist I could be. He challenged me musically and never allowed me to do anything half way. Oh, how I love him and adore him and will miss him terribly. He was such a gift to me and what he taught me will continue to be with me. He spoke life into me every time we were together and no matter when I saw him he never stopped boasting about the goodness of God. There is nothing I can say that will soften the blow of his passing but know that he is and was loved by many. I pray God’s spirit upon you to comfort you in this time of sadness.

What a gifted and talented person. You sure knew how to direct a choir. Hill Street Missionary Baptist Church's Sanctuary Choir is a better choir from being under your direction and we'll cherish the time we spent with you. We loved the energy you brought to the choir and your passion for gospel music. To Ron's Family: Be encouraged!!

Wow, I just asked Trinette about you Monday or Tuesday of this week. It's been awhile, but I'll never forget the way you cut up at Galilee. You kept everybody laughing and brought so much fun to serving God. "I'm grateful" to have known you. You will be missed!
