Rosa Lara Obituary
Detroit - Rosa Maria Lara (Crumes) 87 passed away peacefully in Detroit Michigan on Monday March 11, 2019. We are sad because we will miss her but have the happy memories she left us with. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her two children, Maria and Halbert Crumes; 4 grandchildren (Alex, Zachary, Ariel and Micah).
She grew up in Tampa Florida and attended college at the Tuskegee Institute where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Mathematics. She taught high school for 27 years in Louisville at Central and Iroquois high school before retiring. Rosa was a member of St. John Paul II parish and she will be missed by the Catholic community in Louisville.

We met Rosa and the family over 40 years ago and she became one of our best friends and was a loving sister to us. She always made us feel welcome during our visits and we love her very much. It was truly an honor to be part of her life. Precious memories forever.

I met Rosa through ABWA (American Business Women's Association) when I was a member in Louisville back in the 80s. We each represented our chapters and wanted to attend the national convention in Detroit that year, so we roomed together. I enjoyed her company and we had dinner with her daughters at the hotel. Years later, my mother moved into Casa Granada where I met her again! God bless her and her family. RIP Rosa.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Ms. Crumes was a teacher I had when I went to Iroquois High School in 1980-1983. She was a great lady and teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless and May Peace Be With You!
