Scott Slusher Obituary

SLUSHER , SCOTT C., photographer/artist, passed away on Monday September 3, 2012 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Born on May 5, 1964, Scott was a talented, professional photographer with an eye for making ordinary objects, unique images. He was a graduate of Waggener High School class of 1982. On August 28th 2012, Scott earned his associates degree in visual communications from Ivy Tech Community College. He was the vice president of Art Sanctuary and an avid and active supporter of the arts. During his life, Scott owned and operated Eye Chart Photography and free lanced his photographic talent to help promote local arts and artists. Scott was always known to say, "I don't take pictures, I create images." He was preceded in death by Martha Hanley.

Scott is survived by his brother, Chris Slusher; stepfather, Ron Hanley; father, Thomas Slusher; stepmother, Phyllis Slusher; sisters, JoLynn Slusher and Natalie Smith; nephew, Kyton Smith; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, Lisa Frye, Susan Mackowiak, Greta Harding and Halie Gamwell.

Scott made the conscious decision to donate his body, upon his death, to the University of Louisville Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology in hopes of providing research and progression of medical science to fight cancer.

There will be a memorial service for Scott at a date to be determined later and Scott's family is asking that all expressions of sympathy be the form of donations to the University of Louisville James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Scott's name.

Ronnie,

I was sorry to read of Scott's passing. While it has been many, many years since I have seen either Scott or Chris, as young boys they certainly left a positive lasting impression when they played kickball in our backyard on Woodsdale Avenue in the 1970's. I hope you are doing well under the circumstances. Take care.
