Thomas Hills Obituary

Thomas George Hills

Louisville - We said good-bye to a great man with a kind spirit on June 6, 2021. Thomas George Hills, 68, was a devoted husband, caring brother and one-of-a-kind dad. His biggest joy was being a fun-loving Poopaw, quick with jokes and generous with fruit snacks.

Tom was born in Sheboygan, WI, to the late Alan and Nita Hills. For more than 35 years, he worked at General Electric, where he was a journeyman tool and die maker and for many years was president of the Machinists Union Lodge 2409. More recently, he was an agent with Semonin Realtors. He cared deeply about helping others, which he displayed through his involvement with Habitat for Humanity and Metro United Way. He was an avid reader and a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.

On the racquetball court, Tom made lifelong friends while being a fierce competitor. His many achievements on the court include winning the National Senior's Phoenix Open Doubles Championship in 2018.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.

Those left behind to celebrate his life include his wife of 45 years, Carol Traeger Hills; children, Melodie Davenport (Derek) and Philip Hills (Michelle); grandchildren, Adelaide Shirley, Zechariah Buck and Garrett Thomas; siblings, Carol Hales, Jane Smith and Jerry Hills; and many other extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fern Creek Fire Department for the benefit of the Sgt. Kyle Adams Family.

Friends are invited to stop by and celebrate Tom's life at Louisville's Woodhaven Country Club, 7200 Woodhaven Rd., on June 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
