Thomas Knight Obituary

KNIGHT, THOMAS J. "T. J.," 85, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Hillcreek Manor. He was a native of Maysville, Mason County, KY, a US Navy Aviation Machinist's Mate Second Class on the USS Franklin from 1942-1946 and a retired Real Estate Broker and Insurance Agent. He attended Boston Technical Institute and a 1938 graduate of Manual High School. He was a founding member of Melbourne Heights Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon; he was on the Board of Governors for 17 years with Kosair Children's Hospital, a KY Colonel, a 50 year Mason and a member of American Legion. He is preceded in death by his father, Judge Thomas J. Knight and mother, Elsie Knight. He is survived by his wife, the former Edith Schell; sons, Gregory Knight (Ann) and Glenn Knight (Karen); sister, Eleanor Knight; brother-in-law, Leon Schell; and grandchildren, Zoe Skylar Knight, Remy Grace Knight, Brian Knight and Stephanie Knight. His funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at Melbourne Heights Baptist Church with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd and 11-12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Melbourne Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
