Lou, I was deeply saddened to learn, just a few minutes ago, of Vernon's passing. My memories of our high school years and our meeting at the 50th class reunion, are all of a pleasant and talented man, always helpful and upbeat. He will be missed by all who knew him. Joyce and I send you our most sincere condolences. John James, Bradenton, FL ( class of 1953)

I just talked with Vernon last week. We were reminiscing of times past. We had some great times together. Especially, "There Stands the Glass".

What a great guy. Vernon loved music and people equally. He was important to many and I am very grateful to have had him in my life. My heart goes out to Lou and the kids.

Lou, it's been years since I last saw Vernon, though my memories of him are fond. He always treated me with courtesy and friendliness...even though I was just a kid (with more interest than money) nosing around his music store. What a great guy! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. (From a long-ago fencing colleague.)
