Colleen Bernardini Obituary

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, and aunt

Lowell

Colleen "Co" M. (Carney) Bernardini, age 59, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 7, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital after a period of lengthy health challenges. A lifelong Lowell resident, Colleen was born on April 22, 1964, the eldest child of Charles E. and M. Sheila (McFadden) Carney. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Hall in 1982. Colleen went on to attend Chamberlain College in Boston and graduated with her Degree in Creative Design in the class of 1984.

Colleen leaves behind her loving and supportive husband of 34 years, David "Cup" A. Bernardini, of Lowell.

Besides her parents and loving husband, Colleen leaves behind two brothers: Michael S. Carney and his partner Jennifer Deasy of Sunapee, NH and Sean Carney and his wife Laurie (Milinazzo) of Dracut, MA; a sister Erin (Carney) Parisi and her husband Carl of Chelmsford, MA; two brothers-in-law Steven Bernardini of Londonderry, NH, and Derek Bernardini and his wife Jean (Catarius) of Dracut, MA; father-in-law Henry Bernardini and his partner Judy Daigle of Goffstown, NH ; She also leaves behind her very special nieces and nephews; Kerrin, Shaila, Patrick, and Robert Carney, Nate and Seth Parisi, Dylan, Samuel, and Zachary Bernardini and Korrie McGrade.

Co was all about family, and was an incredible aunt to her nieces and nephews. She loved to plan fun holiday family activities such as Easter egg hunts, the annual much-loved Christmas "balloon game," and was also a master at designing first place winning Halloween costumes. She was an amazing cook, and made creative birthday cakes, especially for her nieces and nephews' birthday parties. In addition, she loved bird watching, her perennial gardens, rescuing dogs, and was an avid New England Sports fan.

Colleen's most recent professional position was as a Transcriptionist with Lyrix Corporation in Lowell. Prior to that, she worked for Little Brown Publishing Company in Boston for over 15 years, and Rosenbloom Party Store, utilizing her creative talents, for many years.

She is preceded in death by her cherished mother-in-law Izzy (Murray) Farmer and her beloved sister-in-law Gabrielle M. Bernardini.

All Services were held privately for the family. E-condolences at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
