CHELMSFORD -- David C. Smith, age 54, beloved husband of Lorraine D. (Diaz) Smith, died unexpectedly Friday at the Lowell General Hospital.
He was born in Syracuse NY, September 20, 1955, the son of the late Herbert and Harriet (McLane) Smith and lived in Syracuse for many years before moving to Chelmsford 26 years ago.
Mr. Smith was the Owner of Opticorp Inc. in Chelmsford. He and his wife enjoyed vacationing at their home on Martha's Vineyard
Besides his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by his brothers, Herbert Smith and his wife Sally of Syracuse NY and Christopher Smith and his wife Laura of Boulder CO, his sister, Pamela Piraino and her husband Joseph of Syracuse NY and his nieces and nephews.

When David visited with us here at the bank Friday morning, he left me with a huge smile on my face (as he always did).
Be rest assured that David is in the company of heaven's angels. . .
