Donald E. 'Donnie' Cronin Donald E. "Donnie" Cronin, of Somerville, passed away suddenly September 22, 2008 while vacationing in Italy. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Perry) Cronin. Brother of Francis of Nova Scotia, George of Revere, Robert of Lowell, Timothy Jr. of Chelmsford, James, Gerald Cronin, both of Westford, Louise Gilbert of Somerville, June Pendergrass of Revere, Patricia McMurray of FL, Mary Harvey of Lowell, Paula Kydd of Chelmsford, Joanne Cronin of Seattle, the late Dr. Stephen Cronin, David Cronin, and Dorothy Cronin. Dear companion, Sue. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and pet dog, Sarah. Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.), Somerville, Monday morning at 9:00, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church (Union Sq.), Somerville at 10:00. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Sunday 4-8 p.m. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. A proud US Marine, and retired officer of the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office. Donald was a zealous traveler and outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking the NH White Mountains, Montana, South Dakota, and Alaska, and he was an avid Ballroom dancer. We were so saddend and shocked to hear of Don's passing. We will remember him dancing and having a ball at George's lessons and dance parties. He will be missed.

Words can not express how deeply sorry we all are for your loss Donnie will be missed terribly. Thoughout the years we have valued his friendship, kindness and thoughtfulness. We will sorely miss all the laughs,friendly competion and Y.M.C.A. comradship. we will always keep Donnie's memories held deeply in our hearts reminding us how life should be lived.
