Frederick Hannagan Obituary

NORTH CHELMSFORD

Frederick A. Hannagan Jr., age 82, passed away on March 8, 2023 at his beloved homestead in North Chelmsford, MA, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

His remarkable ability to remember and recount details, names, dates, places, and events throughout his storied military travels and adventures was enjoyed by many over the years.

Following his military retirement, Fred pursued a career as a civilian contractor for the government. After many years of private sector work, Fred completed his work career and looked forward to spending more time traveling, running, enjoying sporting events, and spending time with his family.

Fred is survived by his wife of 18 years, Georgia Hannagan. Those left to cherish Fred's memory are his brother, Robert Hannagan, and his wife, Claire of Deltona, FL; his children, Tracey Hannagan DoRosario and her husband Amarildo of Lawrence, Michael Hannagan of Methuen, Jeffrey Hannagan of Methuen, and Gary Hannagan of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Danielle Chivers and her husband, John of Lawrence, Corey Hannagan of Methuen, and Ava Hannagan of Chelmsford; his great-grandchildren, Angeliah and John Chivers of Lawrence; his nephews, Robert Hannagan, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Bethel, CT, and Chad Hannagan and his wife, Donna, of Sandown, NH; and his loving brother in-law & sister in-law Guy Venuti & his wife Ri of Valley Center, CA.

United States Air Force Ret. Major Frederick A. Hannagan, Jr. loved his country and was a proud American. Additionally, he was a strong advocate and supporter of people with disabilities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Special Olympics in memory of Fredrick A. Hannagan, Jr. Thank you for your kindness in remembering and honoring our hero.
