Frederick Larrivee Obituary

Frederick T. Larrivee Wilmington, formerly of Revere, WWII vet; 83 WILMINGTON Mr. Frederick T. Larrivee, age 83, of Wilmington, formerly of Revere, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn F. (McMullen) whom he married in 1957, and they were married for almost 40 years, when she passed away in 1996. Fred was born on April 21, 1924, in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Gladys (Booth) Larrivee. Fred grew up in Revere, and graduated from Revere High School. Upon completion of High School, he joined the Navy. Fred served on the U.S.S. Kopara, as well as several other Naval Vessels during World War II, and he received many medals and commendations for his service to the country. When returning from the service, Fred attended a technical college. He was employed as a building supervisor for the heating and air conditioning maintenance department at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for many years, until he retired in the early 1990's. Shortly after the death of his wife, Fred moved to Wilmington eight years ago to be closer to his daughter and her family, he was a very loving grandparent and a devoted father, his family will miss him dearly. Fred was a very generous man to his pets and he loved birds. Fred cared very deeply for animal causes and was always supporting them, as well as giving to animal shelters. He was the devoted father of Denise M. Winn and her husband, Scott of Wilmington, and Peter T. Larrivee of Revere; loving grandfather of Christopher J., Ryan S. and Brittani F. Winn, all of Wilmington; dear brother of Marilyn Perrin and her husband, Ellwood of Beverly; also survived by several nieces and nephews. LARRIVEE Frederick T., 83, Oct. 4. Funeral services will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours on Sunday, October 7, from 5-9 p.m. Memorial donation's in Fred's name may be made to the M.S.P.C.A., c/o Joan Stark Development Office, 250 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.

Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
