Frederick E. "Fred" Tustin, 94, a long-time resident of Chelmsford and former resident of Medford passed away Wednesday the 10th of November at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 29th, 1926, in Cambridge to Frederick H. and Ella M. (David) Tustin. Fred had two brothers, Malcolm Joseph and George Oliver. In 1958, Fred wed Carolyn J. "Kelly" (Smith) of Beebe River, NH, and they shared 63 years of marriage.

Fred served in the US Army during World War II in Germany.

Fred was loved by all and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether he knew them or not. He always needed to make sure his family, friends, and neighbors were all right and if they needed anything, he was always there. You could count on Fred. Fred could be found with a cold beer in his hand and loved to watch football games on Sundays and baseball games in the evenings. He was a long-time fan of the Boston (Atlanta) Braves. Fred liked to spend his time trying his luck on scratch tickets; he often walked away a winner.

Fred is survived by his wife Kelly and their four children and their families: Dianne Coviello and husband Dave and their son Steve and wife Debbie; Rick Tustin and wife Gesina and their daughter Kimberly, daughter Katelyn and husband Derek, son Joshua and wife Katerina, and son Frederick "Cody"; Steven Tustin and wife Nancy and their daughter RayLynn and partner Maxwell, and daughter Leah and husband Ryan; Janine Viarella and husband James and their son Brendan and beloved dog Luna.
