mother, friend, and teacher
Marblehead, MA
Georgia Klamon-Miller of Marblehead MA died peacefully at the age of 76 on Wed, September 15, 2021 after several bonus years with stage IV lung cancer.
Georgia was an independent and fiercely intelligent woman, with a quick wit and a charm that caused everyone who met her to love her. Before cancer impaired her mobility, she could be found near daily walking along Nahant Beach looking for sand dollars.
Georgia is survived by her son Carter Miller and his wife Laura Frye; her sister Kathy Benson; and her best friend of over 50 years, Marty Bloom and the Bloom/Morin family that became our family. She will be missed by a great many friends, colleagues, and students.
Ever the consummate teacher, Georgia's body was donated to UMass Medical at her request, so that she might deliver one last lesson. A private celebration of her life will be held for friends/family at a later time. She requests those who wish may donate to stjude.org/donate in her name. Please remember her as I do, finally able to walk along that beach again.

I remember Georgia from Sunday school, junior high, and high school. We got together to visit each other at our homes. She had a very beautiful mother. May her memory be a blessing.
