WESTFORD: Greg Narinian, age 70, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many and a longtime resident of Westford passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was born in Belmont to Jacob and Bertha Narinian. Greg was a 1970 graduate of Belmont High. Greg is survived by his sister, Sandra Narinian of Watertown, his children, Adam Narinian, Jason Narinian and his wife Katie; his grandchildren Jacob and Madison; and the love of his life, Ellen. Ellen and Greg were married in 1978 and would have celebrated 45 years together this August. Greg was an avid enthusiast of all things speed and enjoyed building, racing, and tinkering on anything with wheels (or parts). He began go-karting back in the late 70s. He raced super karts at many of the big race tracks up and down the East Coast and later went on to become an avid motorcyclist. Once he started a family his hobby transitioned to all things kids and dogs. The family welcomed their first golden retriever in 1979. Greg went on to show golden retrievers in national dog shows, with many ribbons and championships won over the years- a big honor for Greg. The family raised 9 goldens over the years, and Greg is survived by his 10-year-old constant companion, Ollie. Greg worked for the telephone company for 30 years. He ran his successful auto repair business for many years as a second job and hobby. As the kids grew, he prided himself in prioritizing his family, and never missing his kids' games. Most recently he went on to owning and operating a firearms business in Littleton. Greg harnessed the magic of Christmas for children and adults alike with his fantastically accurate portrayal of Santa. Many families, including the local police officers and their families, experienced the joy of 'Santa' visiting their homes every Christmas Eve to hand deliver presents. Many locals knew Greg as 'Santa'.

Greg's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours from 3-6 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer. Donations may be sent to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue in lieu of flowers.
