Helmuth Lutz Obituary

Helmuth E. Lutz formerly of Lowell, WWII vet; 91 CHELMSFORD Mr. Helmuth E. Lutz, a former resident of Lowell, for the last seven years of Chelmsford Crossing, in Chelmsford, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in Lowell, aged 91 years. Mr. Lutz was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Born in Lowell, on December 23, 1916 the son of the late Frank J. and Emma (Erlebach) Lutz. He received his education in the Lowell school system, and was a graduate of the former Lowell Technology Institute, now UMass Lowell. Mr. Lutz enlisted in the Army Air Corps Sept. 30, 1944, and served with the 413th Bombardment Squadron in the 96 Bombardment Group, stationed in England, his rank was 1st Lieutenant. He was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the American Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged Jan. 27, 1946. After his service, he attended Brewmaster School in New York. Helmuth was a brew master with the Harvard/Carling Brewery for many years. He was a life time member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks. Helmuth is survived by two nieces, Robin Dowling and her husband, Thomas of Lowell, and Candance McDowell also of Lowell. He was the brother of the late Hildegard Lunetta, Ruth Pirington; and the Uncle of the late Donna Pirington. LUTZ Died in Lowell, Mr. Helmuth E. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I was shocked to see His name in the Obituaries.
When I use to go in his room to strip his bed , he'd say here comes trouble . When he saw that Sandy (Santos) was with me he'd say oh no it's double trouble.We loved him.He may have been Grouchy at times but I still Loved him.He had a big soft heart.
May He Rest in Pease.
I will never forget him.
