Henry Lausier Obituary

Henry R. Lausier active at Billerica Lodge of Elks, Navy vet; 72 BILLERICA Henry R. Lausier, age 72, husband of 50 years of Alice C. (Poissant) Lausier, died Friday, August 31, 2007, at their home. He was born in Lowell, March 3, 1935, the son and stepson of the late Phillip Lausier and the late Cecile (Boudreau) (Lausier) and Rosario Martineau. He had received his education in Lowell schools. He had been a Billerica resident since 1963. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Billerica. Mr. Lausier served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1956, aboard the U.S.S. Goodrich 831, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal (European Class). Mr. Lausier owned Henry's Barber Shop in Billerica Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lausier was the past Exalted Ruler, Honorary Life Member, past Treasurer, and manager of the Billerica Lodge of Elks for 25 years. He was also a member of the American Legion #0273 in Burlington, member, and Jr. Vice Commander of the VFW Eggo Post #2597 in Pinehurst, past charter member of the Billerica Rotary Club, past member of the Moose Club of Billerica. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He was a devoted grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially swimming. Besides his beloved wife,he is survived by a daughter, Diane Lausier and her companion, Wayne LaCrosse of Billerica; a daughter-in-law, Melanie (Doto) Lausier of Billerica; two grandchildren, Darren J. Lausier and Kamryn D. Lausier, both of Billerica; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Gabrielle Lausier of Tyngsboro; a sister, Doris Drew and her companion, Carol Touma of Nashua, N.H.; his aunt, Doris Piexhote of Lowell; as well as several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins; and many friends. He was also the father of the late Kenneth P. Lausier. LAUSIER Of Billerica, Aug. 31, Henry R. Lausier husband of Alice C. (Poissant) Lausier. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday from 2 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Middlesex East/Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave. STE 17, Wakefield, MA 01880. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Funeral Directors W. J. and Dean M. Laurendeau.
