He was born in Nashua on Aug. 3, 1946, son of the late George O. and Helen (Fisher) Moore. He attended Pepperell schools and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 1965.
After graduation, Mr. Moore served in the Army with the 577th engineer Battalion during the Vietnam War. He was in Camrhon Bay as a specialist 5 for 18 months. He was the former post commander of the Pepperell and Lunenburg American Legion as well as a former chaplain with the Pepperell Post. Mr. Moore was also a life member of the Pepperell Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
For two years he was a reserve police officer in Pepperell and then served as a regular officer on the town's police force for nine years. He was later employed at the Institute of Professional Practice as a counselor for the mentally challenged.
Mr. Moore was a parishioner at the St. Boniface Parish in Lunenburg.
He and his wife enjoyed searching for artifacts.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Jerome A. Moore Jr. and his wife Amy of Lunenburg, Marybeth Moore of Nashua, and Shawn Moore of Pepperell; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Moore.
