of Chelmsford

CHELMSFORD, MA -- Mrs. Joanne L. Tully, RN, 82, of Chelmsford, MA, died August 29, 2012, at Heritage Nursing Care Center, Lowell, MA.

She was married to Mr. Frank Tully with whom she celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2012.

Born in New York City on March 1, 1930, the daughter of the late Victor and Katherine (O'Neil) Lambert, she was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School with the class of 1948 and St. Joseph's School of Nursing, class of 1951.

Mrs. Tully attended Johns Hopkins University and worked as an RN at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Boston City Hospital, and several Greater-Lowell hospitals and nursing homes.

Mrs. Tully was very devoted to her family and home and was a truly gifted portrait artist. She was passionate about opera, the arts, and poetry. She loved animals and spending time at Hampton Beach.

Mrs. Tully was the beloved mother of Stephen Tully of Tewksbury, MA, and Ellen Nutter of Trumbull, CT. In addition to her husband and children, Mrs. Tully leaves behind the spouses of her children, Lorraine Tully and John Nutter; as well as her grandchildren: Jason Tully and his fiancée, Cheryl Cusson, Christopher Tully, Michelle Tully, Brett Nutter and Joelle Nutter; a great-grandson, Colton Tully; along with an aunt and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tully was the sister of the late Rita Lambert Cohen.
