Joseph Chisholm Obituary

Dr. Joseph H. Chisholm lived in Billerica, optometrist, WWII vet; 89 PELHAM Dr. Joseph H. Chisholm, age 89, husband of Joan (Batchelor) Chisholm and family in joyful remembrance would like to announce his passing on Saturday, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born in Malden, April 3, 1918, son of the late Valentine and Elizabeth (O'Connell) Chisholm and lived in Billerica before moving to Pelham five years ago. Mr. Chisholm was employed as a Chemist for General Foods for over 25 years having retired in 1983, and was a self-employed Optometrist for many years. He is remembered as an Army Veteran of WWII, a long and respected resident of Billerica, an historian, and loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and teacher. Besides his wife, Mr. Chisholm is survived by his seven sons, Christopher Chisholm of CT, Colin Chisholm of Billerica, Peter Chisholm of Pepperell, Jonathan Chisholm of Lowell, Paul Chisholm of Westford, Matthew Chisholm of Nashua, and Rodney Chisholm of NY; three daughters, Jane Beane of Pelham, Christine Chisholm of Tyngsboro, and Veronica Pallas of VT; his sister, Madeline Petrucci of Wakefield; and is also survived by 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. CHISHOLM Of Pelham, formerly of Billerica, Nov. 18, Dr. Joseph H. Chisholm, husband of Joan (Batchelor) Chisholm. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 12 Main St., Pelham at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, P.O. Box 7068, Merrifield, VA 22116 or the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054. Funeral Directors W.J. and Dean M. Laurendeau.
