CUSHING, Maine -- Joseph P. Yamello, 75, of Cushing, Maine, died peacefully Saturday morning, February 22, 2014, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, ME, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Everett, MA on May 26, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Pelaggi) Yamello.
In 1975, Joe became an architectural drafting teacher at the Greater Lowell Regional Vocational High School.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Gail.
YAMELLO -- Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of sharing from 3 to 8 p.m. February 26th at the Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main St., Thomaston, ME. The Funeral Mass for Joseph will be held 10 a.m. February 27th at St. Bernard's Catholic Church,150 Broadway St., Rockland, ME. Following the Mass there will be a reception at the Rockland Elk's Lodge, 210 Rankin St. in Rockland, ME. Contributions in Joe's memory may be made to Cushing Fire Department, 39 Cross Rd., Cushing ,ME 04563 or American Cancer Society, Relay For Life, 1 Bowdoin Mill Rd., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086 (http://www.relayforlife.org/). "the Misses" I am so sorry to hear of "Mistah's" passing. He was such a great teacher always made us laugh, and the love he showed for you was so sweet. I hope his memories can keep a smile on your face during these hard times. I will never forget him sending me off with Hershey kisses to bring to you (Kisses for the misses), he really was sending me there to be sure none of the kids you were subbing were giving you a hard time.

To the Yamello Family, The world has lost a true gentleman with a sense of humor and kindness. I taught with Joe at G.L.T.H.S. and was always impressed with his professionalism to his trade and to the students under his tutelage.
